Szamosi Zsófi
actress

About
My name is Zsófia Szamosi, and I am a Jászai Mari Award-winning actress and acting teacher. After graduating from the University of Theatre and Film Arts in 2001, I joined the Szigligeti Theatre in Szolnok, and later became a member of the Vígszínház, where I worked for four years.
Between 2005 and 2015, a new chapter began in my career: I gradually moved away from classical theatre towards contemporary, devised and artist-driven forms of theatre, joining Béla Pintér and Company. I also took part in creating documentary theatre productions with PanoDráma, focusing on the exploration of pressing social issues of our time.
After 2015, I began working as a freelance actress, collaborating with various companies and artists on contemporary projects, while occasionally also taking on roles in more traditional, classical theatre productions. Throughout my career, I have sought to preserve the workshop-based, collaborative and creative approach that has been important to me from the very beginning.
Over the past fifteen years, alongside my work in theatre, I have also become increasingly involved in film. I have participated in numerous projects that have received significant professional recognition both in Hungary and internationally.
For the past two years, at the invitation of the Budapest Acting School, I have also been teaching acting for film.
