Ivanics Tamás
actor

About
My name is Tamás Ivanics. I am an actor and, from time to time, a director, driven above all by the world of independent theatre and by stories that genuinely have something at stake.
I began my career in Eger, later graduated from the University of Theatre and Film Arts, and since 2020 I have been working as a freelance artist, continually exploring and pushing the boundaries between theatrical genres.
As an actor, audiences can see me in productions by Trojka Theatre Company, as well as at the Pinceszínház, Rózsavölgyi Szalon, Vörös Neon, Bartók Theatre, Spinoza Theatre, Budaörs Latinovits Theatre and KuglerArt Salon, among others.
An important part of my repertoire is my Antistigma Award-winning one-man show Anya csak egy van, created with the Kultúrbrigád team and based on the novel by Miklós Vámos.
As a director — whether working on Eugene Onegin, Hamlet, Spring Awakening or Hermelin — I am always drawn to timeless human stories that deeply affect the audience and leave them with something to reflect on about themselves.
I like taking risks, but what I am always looking for are concentrated, clear moments and genuine connections with my fellow artists.
For me, theatre is both a shared game and an inner journey. After a truly good evening, you go home as a different person. That is why I do it.
Man exists only to the extent that he transcends himself.
— Jean-Paul Sartre
